Thank you to the Mechanicsburg Area Foundation for their continued support of our Nurse Aide Training classes held at New Hope Ministries in Mechanicsburg. Their grant of $2,500 will allow us to continue our successful partnership with New Hope Ministries in providing pre-clinical training and scholarships to participants who wish to become certified nurse aides. After completing our 3-week pre-clinical program held at New Hope Ministries, successful students are awarded scholarships to HACC’s clinical program and go on to complete the state certification exam. Our Nurse Aide students secure good-paying jobs and enter a new career they can be proud of. We could not continue to offer these opportunities without the generous support of our funders. Thank you!
We are delighted to welcome Debra Botterill as our new volunteer Adult Basic Education instructor. Our ABE class is designed to serve students who are interested in improving basic math, reading, and writing skills. The class will prepare students for better employment and training opportunities. It will meet on Wednesdays from 9:00 am to noon beginning November 11. If someone you know would benefit from this class, tell them to stop by the Employment Skills Center Tuesday through Thursday to complete the application and intake process.
