Summer Environmental Tech Training

The Redevelopment Authority of Cumberland County has secured an EPA grant to provide three sessions of Environmental Technician Training. The FREE classes are held at Employment Skills Center in Carlisle with select specialized training dates held at HACC’s Harrisburg campus. HACC provides all technical training and instruction while Employment Skills Center provides work-readiness instruction, classroom space, and participant support. The project aims to prepare local residents for employment in the redevelopment of Carlisle’s vacant industrial sites (brownfields) and other jobs related to environmental remediation and cleanup throughout Cumberland County.

The first session will wrap up at the end of April. Our second cohort will run this summer July 5 to September 1, 2017. This program is a unique opportunity to develop job skills, earn credentials, and explore the field of environmental science. Graduates of the program will be prepared for a variety of jobs related to the cleanup of environmentally contaminated sites or for further studies in environmental science. This is a great opportunity for high school graduating seniors!

If you would like to learn more about the program, please plan on attending our April information session:

April 17—1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Cumberland County CareerLink, 1 Alexandra Ct., Carlisle

You can also learn more about the program by visiting our Environmental Technician Training webpage
