RACE CATEGORIES

VIRTUAL – May 11-16

For the virtual race, you may walk, run (hop, skip, etc.) on our original course, around town, on a track, in the woods, on a treadmill, in the pool, or anywhere else you want to for one mile. You can do that anytime from May 11 through May 16. Then enter your time on RunSignUp. Results will be posted as the race progresses and the fastest time in each race category (age and gender, or team) wins bragging rights. We will use the honor system for reporting times. These times will not compete with the race day times on the High Street certified course. All participants registered by April 28 will receive a 2024 Carlisle Downtown Mile race t-shirt.

Uploading Your Times
Participants will be able to record their time, track other racers, and challenge themselves. And remember, this is based on the honor system. No need to upload data to Strava or record your mile with a GPS. No one will be looking to DQ you. Once you are registered, you will be able to upload your time using the following steps:

Step 1: Make sure you are logged into RunSignUp (use the email you used to register).
Step 2: Click on the RESULTS then click on the blue box that says SUBMIT VIRTUAL RESULTS. Search for your name.
Step 3: Add your time and save your results. It might take a few minutes to update in the overall results, but you can refresh the page and wait. That’s it! You are done.

Race FAQs

Where is the race?
The 2024 Carlisle Downtown Mile is a one-mile run/walk down High Street in downtown Carlisle!

What are the run categories?
There are 5 different mile heats in the race schedule including nine different age categories, 5 different Team Challenge categories, and a Just for Fun Mile/Walk.

What is the Team Challenge all about?
Our team challenge is a great opportunity to have some friendly team competition with other organizations similar to yours. It is also a wonderful team building event due to the short distance of the race. Wear your organization t-shirts and let the community see you out there! The expanded team challenge categories are: Healthcare, Serve & Protect, Non-Profit/Government, Corporate/Business, and Education.

Each team may consist of three to five members. The fastest three team members’ times will be added together for a total team time. The team challenge is a great way to promote a friendly rivalry between departments of one organization or between various organizations.

Can I run just for fun?
Definitely!! That is what the Just for Fun/Walk is for. The Carlisle Downtown Mile wants to encourage everyone in the community to participate, including competitive runners, active seniors, veterans, and all members of the family.
