On Thursday, November 3, Employment Skills Center held its first program-wide graduation ceremony since 2018. During the ceremony, ESC recognized students and graduates from the GED; English as a Second Language (ESL); Digital Literacy; Microsoft Excel & Outlook; and Nurse Aide training programs. Students from these programs have spent numerous hours studying, improving their English language skills, increasing their digital literacy skills, and gaining critical employability skills. They have taken difficult GED subject tests, have entered post-secondary education, become Certified Nurse Aides, entered the workforce, earned Microsoft certifications, and much more.

This year, two outstanding students were selected for the Julie McKain Memorial Scholarship Award. This award was established in honor of our dear friend and colleague, Julie McKain. Julie was a valued member of our volunteer team and had a true passion for giving back to the community. Tasha Keifer and Naaima Bouhouch were chosen to receive this award as a result of their academic achievements, dedication, classroom participation, teamwork, and commitment to reaching their goals. Congratulations, Tasha and Naaima!

We are so proud of our students for their hard work and determination, and the perseverance they have shown in the midst of challenges and adversity. It was an honor to spend the evening celebrating with them, their loved ones, our staff, community partners, and our special guests who helped make it a very special and memorable event. Congratulations to all of our graduates!
