Overview

Forklift operators are in high demand in Cumberland County. Industrial Truck & Tractor Operators was named a High Priority Occupation for the South Central Workforce Investment Area. Employment Skills Center offers lift truck training and certification along with classroom instruction in workplace readiness skills to prepare participants for self-sustaining jobs.

Workplace Readiness

Our program provides 7 hours of workplace readiness instruction.

Topics include:

  • A preview of basic lift truck principles
  • An introduction to logistics
  • Warehouse job competencies
  • Workplace math & reading skills
  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Resume writing
  • Job search skills

Students who complete the workplace readiness modules will continue on to OSHA compliant forklift safety training, hands-on instruction, testing, and certification. Successful graduates of the program will receive a wallet card and certificate of completion.

The next Forklift class is scheduled for April 13-16

To apply for the program, candidates should complete the online registration form. Applicants will then be contacted to schedule a time for the required reading assessment. Students will be interviewed before being admitted to the class. A valid driver’s license is required.
