Part-time Workforce Development Instructor

A part-time instructor is needed to provide soft skills and digital literacy instruction to students entering computer skills training in a community-based adult education and training program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans, administers, and delivers course curriculum to include:
    • Digital literacy instruction – basic computer use; emailing; internet basics; Windows 10; Microsoft; etc.
    • Life skills including self-empowerment, time management, and cultural literacy
    • Workplace “soft skills” including teamwork, communication, customer service, and professionalism
  • Provides supportive services to all participants throughout enrollment
  • With the assistance of the Program Manager, plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, goals, and abilities of the adult student
  • Assists with student intake and computer skills assessments
  • Maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
  • Uses a variety of instructional methods, materials, and techniques
  • Meets and instructs classes as designated
  • Prepares for all classes assigned
  • Evaluates student progress regularly
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and up-to-date records

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience using Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite

This position is part-time. The candidate chosen for this position will be responsible for delivering instruction for 4 to 6 one-week sessions per program year in addition to course planning and preparation. Salary will be based on experience.

Adult Education Program Manager

A program manager is needed to provide oversight of GED and Nurse Aide training programs for a community-based adult education and training provider.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior adult education and/or program management experience
  • Teaching experience with young adult or adult population preferred
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Public speaking experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Resourceful, creative, and flexible
  • Committed to working with a diverse student population

Job Responsibilities:

ABE/GED Program Manager (60%)

  • Oversees ABE/GED program and instructors
  • Conducts intakes, orientations and exits with students
  • Administers assessment tests for proper classroom placement (CASAS)
  • Establishes student goals and provide case management/student support
  • Observes classes and conducts regular meetings with instructors
  • Manages enrollment/attendance data to meet contract numbers
  • Provides monthly program updates/reports
  • Substitute teach as needed

Nurse Aide Program Manager (30%)

  • Conducts assessments, interviews, intakes, and orientations of students
  • Advises students and provides case management and student support services
  • Oversees Nurse Aide instructor and provides guidance as needed
  • Prepares and delivers presentations and information sessions
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and up-to-date records

Administrative & Professional Development (10%)

  • Attends staff meetings & program meetings
  • Participates in professional development training as required
  • Assists with front desk coverage and other office duties as assigned

The position is 30 hours per week. Salary will be based on experience. Criminal, FBI, and Child Abuse background checks will be required for employment.
