Tutors
Employment Skills Center is in need of dedicated volunteers to tutor adult students one-on-one in the areas of Basic Literacy, Math, GED preparation, and English as a Second Language. Volunteers are required to complete an orientation session at ESC, online self-paced tutor training, and 4 hours of continuing education per program year. After completing all training, volunteers are asked to commit to 1.5 hours twice a week or 3 hours once a week. No prior experience is required, but volunteers must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or currently be pursuing one in accordance with PA Department of Education guidelines. Classroom Aides
Volunteers are needed to offer assistance to classroom instructors and provide one-on-one assistance with students. Volunteers are required to complete an orientation session at ESC, plus 4 hours of continuing education per program year. No prior experience is required, but volunteers must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. All volunteers must comply with a state mandated PA State Police background check. Fundraising
Serve on a committee for one of our annual fundraising events, or volunteer to help. You will meet meet new friends while helping out a worthy cause!
